Onbashira Festival of Suwa Taisha
Suwa Taisha's greatest rite, held in the Years of the Tiger and the Monkey: great fir trunks are hauled down from the mountains and raised at the four corners of each of the shrine's four sanctuaries.

Nagaoka Festival Grand Fireworks
A fireworks festival held every year on August 2 and 3 on the Shinano River riverbed in Nagaoka, Niigata. Its organizer, the Nagaoka Fireworks Foundation, aims to pass on to future generations the story of Nagaoka's fireworks as prayers for remembrance, recovery and peace.
